Hello Elizabeth , Basically there are 5 pins .
The largest one ( red pin) is called the Emery Tool ( it smothes and shapes your nails) .
The Smallest ( metal pin) is called the Cuticle Pusher ( it keeps cuticles neat and cleans under nails).
The Fine shaping tool ( white pin - smallest of three) ( it shapes and contours nails)
The Shapping Tool ( Whilte pin - midium size of the three white pins) ( smopthes nail surfaces).
The Buffing Tool ( White pin- Largest of all three white pins) Buffs your nails to a natural finish.
I hope this helps ;)

I agree with Jay (comment above). I'm having a terrible time trying to get the tools into the system.

to insert the heads into the system, you select the head you want and push the metal part into the hole on the top of the ultimate manicure system. you will probably need to push kind of hard to get it in, it will still have some metal showing after you push it as far as it will go. hope this helped :)

I bought this last weekend and I love it. It's better than going to a salon to get a mani-pedi set because I can control how to shape my nails. Normally they always file my nails down more than I like and sometime it's to the point that it's painful. With this I'm able to file away and fix any chips and stuff. I thought that it was easy to use. For those asking just each head in and turn slight to lock them and then you'll be good to go.
